CBT teaches you to think in a different way.
CBT helps where clients frequently experience excessive automatic negative thoughts. It helps you understand the importance of thinking and how it affects the way you feel and react, and gives you the tools to think differently.
CBT helps you to unlearn unwanted reactions
CBT is based on the scientifically supported assumption that most emotional and behavioural reactions are learned. Therefore, the goal of this therapy is to help you unlearn your unwanted reactions and to learn new ways of reacting.
CBT supports you with hands-on tools
At The Lough Hypnotherapy Centre Rose uses a form of Integrative CBT which can be used alongside other therapeutic approaches.
Each session offers practical activities with exercises to do at home between sessions. You will use worksheets and create your own activity plan and diary – all these are very important parts of CBT, and will give you and your therapist the foundation to work from in overcoming your problems.
